The Illinois Open Championship is a 54-hole stroke play event with a 258 player field size limit. The starting times will be comprised of place-winners in the qualifying events and those players exempted from qualifying. Following 36 holes of play, (18 holes on each course), the field will be cut to the low 70 scorers plus ties. The Championship round will be held at Royal Melbourne CC. In case of a tie for the Championship, a three (3) hole total stroke play-off will take place following the posting of the final score. If the tie has not been broken after three holes, the playoff will continue at sudden death. Playoff holes to be determined by the rules committee.
Open to any legal resident (professional or amateur) of the State of Illinois. Illinois PGA Members and Apprentices working as such within the Illinois Section are eligible. Amateurs must carry a verified handicap index of 10.0 or less.

STARTING TIMES & GROUPINGS:
Contestants shall be responsible for their starting times and groupings. All starting times and groupings will be listed on www.ipga.com as well as emailed to all players once they are finalized. Starting times will also be available by calling the host facility.
Players MUST not carry their own bag. Penalty – Disqualification. A motorized passenger cart or caddie shall be required for all competitors. Contestants may bring their own caddies.
Metal and/or soil penetrating spikes will not be allowed at any Illinois PGA sanctioned event unless otherwise specified. For further information this policy is listed on the Illinois PGA Section Tournament Rules & Regulations, Conduct, Eligibility and Policies which can be viewed at www.ipga.com. Penalty for breach of this rule is DISQUALIFICATION.
Contestants may not wear blue jeans and may not wear collarless t-shirt or tank tops. Men will observe the dress code of the PGA TOUR, NO SHORTS. While on the host facility property, caddies may wear either long pants or tailored solid colored knee length shorts. Blue jeans, cutoffs, T-shirts or shirts with no collar shall not be worn. Smooth rubber sole shoes are required. Golf shoes with traditional metal spikes are prohibited. Penalty - Disqualification.
While on host facility property during qualifying rounds; players and caddies shall conduct themselves in a professional manner. All players MUST abide by the IPGA Tournament Rules & Regulations listed on the Illinois PGA website. The Illinois Section PGA Section reserves the right to remove a player from the qualifying competition for; non-competitiveness; conduct unbecoming a professional by the player; conduct unbecoming a professional by the players’ caddie. Communication devices must be powered off during the stipulated round by players and caddies. Penalty - Disqualification.
Alcohol is not allowed by any player or caddie on the golf course or practice areas before, during or after his/her stipulated round.
RULES OF GOLF:
Play shall be governed in accordance with the Rules of Golf of the United States Golf Association, as modified by the IPGA Local Rules and Conditions of Competition card and supplemented by the Notice to Competitors.
