EVENT:Two teams shall consist of eight (8) Illinois PGA Senior Professionals VS eight (8) CDGA Senior Amateurs. The players play four (4) Fourball Matches (as in the Ryder Cup format) in 18 Holes of team competition. Two (2) players of each team compete against each other in a foursome with each player playing their own ball and each hole is won by the team whose individual golfer has the lowest score. Each foursome will play for 3 points in the Match with one point for front nine, one point for the back nine and one point for the total 18 holes. Ties for a point will result in ½ point for each team. The totals of the four (4) Fourball Matches will determine the winner of the event. A total tie will remain as such and result in the previous year’s victorious team retaining the Thompson Cup.

ELIGIBILITY: PGA Member or apprentice in good standing. 55 years of age and older. Selection is the top 8 from the 2008 Senior Points List and 2 Super Seniors (65 years of age and older).

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
11:30 AM Practice range available (short irons only).
12:00 PM Player Lunch available.
12:45 PM Team photos at the putting green.
1:00 PM Honorary Match begins.
1:10 PM – 1:40 PM Matches begin from 1st tee.

Cocktails & Dinner to follow golf. Sport coat required for dinner.

CARTS/CADDIE: All Thompson Cup team members must use a cart. Contestants may NOT bring their own caddie.

PRACTICE ROUNDS: Practice rounds will be available. Please call for tee times (773) 238-9405.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Players may use Distance Measuring Devices. These devices must measure and gauge distance only.

DIRECTIONS: Exit 294 at 95th street (exit East) go East on 95th street to California Ave, turn right on California Ave and take it to 103rd Street. Club entrance is at 103rd & California Street.
