GLENVIEW, Ill. – September 26, 2018 – The Illinois PGA Section has announced that Dana Gattone has joined the staff as Manager of Special Events and will begin on Oct. 1.
In her role, Gattone will report to Kathy Kreft, Assistant Executive Director, and primarily work closely with her to develop, plan and execute events for the member and associates such as membership meetings, educational seminars and social events. In addition, she will provide support for the travel Pro-Am and Special Awards program.
“We’re excited to have Dana join our team and contribute in a number of crucial areas of business,” said Carrie Williams, Executive Director of the Illinois PGA Section and Illinois PGA Foundation. “Her enthusiasm, experience and knowledge of the game will be valuable as we continue to build our team and the Illinois PGA Section brand as well as deliver results for our members and associates.”
Gattone graduated from University of Illinois in May 2018 with a B.A. in Communication. She was a member of the women’s golf team and a four-year Varsity letter winner. Gattone concluded her career with the fifth-best career stroke average in program history (75.78) and, in her senior season, also posted the eighth-best single season stroke average in school history (74.39).
Gattone served as the Illinois PGA Section Communications and Marketing intern from May to September 2018 assisting with media relations, press release writing and social media as well as tournament operations.
