Nine Illinois PGA Professionals to Compete at the Senior PGA Professional Championship

The 34th Senior PGA Professional Championship takes place October 13-16 in New Mexico

GLENVIEW, Ill. – October 12, 2022 – Nine Illinois PGA Professionals will represent the Section at the 34th Senior PGA Professional Championship this week, Oct. 13-16 at Twin Warriors and Santa Ana Golf Clubs Santa Ana Pueblo, NM. Illinois PGA Professionals qualified for this event in August at the Senior Illinois PGA Professional Championship at Bryn Mawr Country Club in Lincolnwood, Ill. All active PGA Professionals ages 50 years or older were eligible to qualify for this event.

The 264 PGA Professionals in this event are competing for the Leo Fraser trophy. This week’s top 35 finishers will qualify for the 2023 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, to be played May 24-28 at PGA Frisco in Frisco, Texas. The 2023 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship will mark the first major championship played at PGA Frisco.

“We are very proud of the Senior PGA Professionals that have qualified for this event,” said Carrie Williams, Executive Director of the Illinois PGA Section. “We have a strong group of professionals representing the Illinois PGA Section this year at the National Senior PGA Professional Championship, and we wish them all the best this week.”
