Nine Illinois PGA Professionals to Compete at Senior PGA Professional Championship

33RD SENIOR PGA PROFESSIONAL LEADERBOARD

GLENVIEW, Ill. – October 20, 2021 – Nine Illinois PGA Professionals will represent the Section at the 33rd Senior PGA Professional Championship this week, Oct. 21-24 at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Illinois PGA Professionals qualified for this event in August at the Senior Illinois PGA Professional Championship at Bryn Mawr Country Club in Lincolnwood, Ill. All active PGA Professionals ages 50 years or older were eligible to qualify for this event. 

The 264 PGA Professionals in this event are competing for the Leo Fraser. This week’s top 35 finishers will qualify for the 2022 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, to be played May 24-29 at Harbor Shores Golf Club in Benton Harbor, Michigan.  

“We are very proud of the Senior PGA Professionals that have qualified for this event,” said Carrie Williams, Executive Director of the Illinois PGA Section. “We have a strong group of professionals representing the Illinois PGA Section this year at the National Senior PGA Professional Championship, and we wish them all the best this week.”

  • Illinois PGA Super Senior Open at Pine Meadow Golf Club – 1st
  • Won the 2021 Illinois PGA Errie Ball Senior Player of the Year Award and finished third in the Illinois PGA Bernardi Player of the Year race.
