• 71st Illinois Open Championship Restructured Amidst Covid-19 Pandemic

    The Illinois PGA announced that today 71st Illinois Open Championship will be restructured due the COVID-19 pandemic. Among some of those changes will be a reduced field size from 264 to 156 players, and all three rounds of the Championship will be played at White Eagle Golf Club in Naperville on August 3-5, 2020, with no companion course. The tournament qualifying events have been reduced from eight to four with the first qualifier to be held at Flossmoor Country Club on July 14. PRESS RELEASE

  • Illinois PGA Season Delayed Until July 6th

    The Illinois PGA Tournament Committee has decided to postpone the start of the 2020 tournament season until Monday, July 6. The Illinois PGA Section staff and Tournament Committee are working on rescheduling, reformatting, and securing facilities as quickly as possible. We will continue to update the membership as we re-confirm our new and old events in the upcoming weeks. At this time, we would like to officially announce the cancellation of four (4) events, in addition to the events previously cancelled on April 6, 2020: Thompson Cup – May 27, 2020 | Radix Cup – June 10, 2020 |1-Day Pro-Am – June 22, 2020 |
    Royal Cup – October 2, 2020

  • Rain Suits for Responders -- Donate or Contribute to Support VFW

    KemperSports, the Illinois PGA Foundation and FootJoy announced that it will partner with the VFW Department of Illinois to continue the Rain Suits for Responders program to serve more healthcare professionals in need. The program, which started in April, will now bring new or gently used men’s and women’s golf rain suits directly to healthcare workers on the frontlines of the coronavirus battle in five VA Hospitals across Illinois, as well as veterans in need.

  • 2020 PGA Jr. League Postseason Cancelled

    PGA Jr. League has announced it will be cancelling the 2020 postseason due to the coronavirus. PGA Jr. League is proceeding to responsibly resume play for local leagues as soon as possible.

  • Upcoming Drive, Chip and Putt Qualifying Season Canceled, 2020 National Finals Rescheduled

    The 2020-21 Drive, Chip and Putt qualifying season will be canceled given the continued effect of COVID-19 on scheduling during the time period critical to the success of local qualifying. This year’s Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals originally scheduled for April 5, 2020, will be rescheduled for April 4, 2021, the eve of the Masters Tournament. Each National Finalist will be invited to compete at Augusta National Golf Club in the same age division for which he or she previously qualified in 2020, regardless of their age on that date.
